So Kind

I'm confident that everyone who reads our blog knows that on August 4th I was diagnosed with nodular sclerosing hodgkin's lymphoma. Our life has changed a lot in the past few months, but our amazing friends and family have solidly remained as those who make our life sweet. I can't even begin to recount the ways that we've been loved and supported, but I wanted to share this particular act of kindness, because it was so unexpected. Ramin performed a wedding for our friends John and Kristin Supsic last weekend and I couldn't go because it was a treatment weekend. When he came home he presented me with Kristin's wedding bouquet-a beautiful assortment of fall flowers. She decided to give them to me instead of tossing them. I just thought they were beautiful, was so touched by the gesture and wanted to share them with you.

School Picnic

Isaiah's back to school picnic was last Wednesday and Grammy Trudy and I went along. We picked up Isaiah's favorite sandwich from Salvaggio's (ham and cheese on "softy" bread) and headed over to say hi to friends from last year and play in the sand box. We had a hard time getting flash gordon to stop for a picture, but here are a few...Gram and Isaiah James with his coveted sandwich.

The Mama and Sonny (I love it when he relaxes like this for pictures).

Mapleton Montessori picnickers.

Team Pachuca :: Game #1

Isaiah played in his first soccer game last Friday for the Boulder County Force :: Team Pachuca. He was so proud of his jersey and his little team and the game went well. It'll be a bit of an adjustment for him to get used to being challenged by other players who want the ball, but he'll catch on. Here are some pictures from the evening...

School Boy

No tears, no butterflies, no apprehension. This little boy was ready to go to school this week! He started his second year of preschool at Mapleton Montessori on Tuesday and jetted in the gate with confidence and excitement. It's so much fun for us to see how much he's grown and changed in a year. Now he's comforting the little guys who are having a hard time. He told Ramin the other day that when he sees a 3 year old crying he goes up to them and says, "don't cry. I'll take care of you until your Mommy comes." And the Mama's heart melts. We're looking forward to another fun year at MMS with our big 4 year old!
