Unprecedented

I'm choosing not to post any pictures of sweet Haven Truett Zenz until the Zenzes themselves have a chance to do that, but I did have to bring everyone in on this unprecedented scene. We got to the hospital this morning and Isaiah climbed into the bed with Mercy and Eden, laid down under the covers, and watched tv. This very rare moment of relaxation lasted for about a half an hour. I thought it was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. We love those Zenz girls!

And...he's off!

Here we have the rider himself on his first Strider bike ride outside.

Strider Bike

One thing has been true about Isaiah James since he got his first bike at 4 months old...he LOVES them! After 2 1/2 years of ripping his little 4 wheel, wooden Radio Flyer bike around, he decided it was time to move on. And it was his decision. We got his new Strider bike about 3 months ago and he wouldn't ride it at all. Then a couple of weeks ago on a rainy morning he went back to his room, got on and hasn't turned back. These pictures are of his first ride outside. When he's ready to ride he says, "Mommy, put my 'fings' on and I will ride, put my helmet on and I will ride and my gloves on and I will ride."

Go, Sonny Go!

This is a short video of Isaiah during his last gymnastics class (they let the moms bring cameras...watch out!) He was having such a ball!

We Heart Gymnastics!

Every Tuesday for the last 9 weeks Isaiah and I have been going to gymnastics together. It's a parent/tot class specifically for 2 1/2 year olds (sheesh!). Each week he was so excited to go and see Miss Patricia (his teacher) and all of his new friends. At first he didn't like the idea of having this huge open space to run in and then being given instructions about when and where to go, but after week 4 his attitude changed and the rest of the classes were a blast. I didn't get quite as much exercise from chasing him all over the gym, but that's okay.
Sonny and I at the beginning of his last class. He was so excited!

"Mommy, I'm going to roll and jump and listen." And...he did :)
JUMP!
"Ninja Moves" as he refers to them

Hanging on the trapeze was a huge development for him. He wouldn't consider doing it for 8 weeks and then on the last day he went for it. I was so proud of him for trying.
He was on a roll! The rope swing was the same. 8 weeks, no go. Week 9...all in.
The kids swing on the rope into the "cheese cubes." He really disliked these for awhile but when I told him to use his big muscles to get out, he started attacking them.

Climbers

For the last 2 years John and Isaiah have looked for new adventures each week. Here they are climbing on a really cool rock formation on Bald Mountain. They are getting so big and it's been such a treat watching their adventures grow with them.
easy....easy...
cheese!
"we're so cool!"
when i took this picture they were telling a story about seeing a rattle snake on their hike. didn't happen, but it was good story anyway :)
