We Be Jammin'...At The Bike Park

One of our go to spots this summer has been the Superior Bike Park in, you guessed it, Superior, CO. They've got a great, fenced in flow track and pump track for bike lovers of all ages to enjoy. This particular day, Sonny was was feeling inspired by the late, great Bob Marley, so he was jammin' over the jumps with a little extra finesse. Here are some pictures of his time.

The Band Of Razavi

Music has been a centerpiece in Razavi family life lately. Ramin and Isaiah are (as Isaiah quite seriously refers to them) "The Band of Razavi," and now have quite the repertoire of songs they play together. Ringing through the house are the the timeless melodies of The Boss, Buddy Miller, REO Speedwagon, Journey and of course, Aerosmith. Once my childhood violin is restrung we're pretty confident we'll be hitting the road for our first tour as an 80's and 90's cover band.

A Beautiful Surprise!

Last week I got to spend a morning with one of my oldest and dearest friends! Laura, her husband, Josh and their three kids were in Ft. Collins visiting family, and because they were so close to Boulder, they made a visit to us a part of their Colorado adventure. Laura and I met in 8th grade (20 years ago!) and then sealed our BFF status in early 9th grade when she invited me over to spend the night. We were inseparable in high school, but haven't lived close since then. We hadn't seen each other in over 6 years! Needless to say, it was a beautiful blessing to sit and catch up.

We're in our 30's now with husbands, kids and serious adult responsibilities, but I guarantee, we're the same goof balls we were 20 years ago (with substance of course)!
Laura and Josh have three gorgeous kids (2 boys and a girl)! Here she is with her littlest, Eden.

Summer At Last

Today was Isaiah's last day of school and when I picked him up he said, "Mommy, let the summer begin!" We may be a little bit thrilled about the freedom of schedule that lies ahead of us, not to mention, relaxing days at the pool, fun afternoons at the bike park, cold lemonade on hot Colorado days and the simple joy that comes with SUMMER.

We began our summer vacation with a trip to Noodles for lunch, a viewing of "Steam In Summer (a movie of steam trains chuffing through summer landscapes-I know. Thrilling.)," a trip to the bike park in Superior, and dinner at Waterloo in Louisville. It was a great day and we're looking forward to many more like it. Cheers to getting the absolute most out of June, July and August!!!

The Bolder Boulder

In March a few of my friends decided that we'd train for Boulder's very own famous road race, the Bolder Boulder. There were moments during those couple of months that we looked at each other with, "REALLY?!?" written all over our faces, but we pressed forward anyway, determined to do it, come what may. Well, I'm happy to report that Memorial Day has come and gone and the four of us did what we set out to do. We walk/jogged (2 min. walking/3 min. jogging) 6.2 miles and were not only smiling at the end, but were plotting for next year's race! It was especially sweet to finish this race after battling cancer this last year. It felt so good to meet a goal other than, "make it through treatment." Thanks to Meggan, Melissa and Lisa for an incredible day!
Here we are at the start :: (L to R) Melissa, Lisa, Me and Meggan
And at the finish!
My sweet hubby had been finished with his race for an hour and a half at this point and came to find me to encourage me and jog a little with me. Don't we look cute in our pink and black (not planned!)?
